WHAT do the Buckingham Palace ballroom floor, the panelling on the Titanic and the marquetry on Northern Belle’s seven exquisitely-restored Pullman-style carriages have in common?
Well, they were all hand made by expert craftsmen working for family firm Dunn and Son in Essex, who use traditional methods that have barely changed since the 19th century.
Each carriage is unique with its own specially-designed interior. One named Duart, decorated with beautiful marquetry motifs of the Royal Castle on the Isle of Mull in Scotland, was even used by the Queen as part of her Royal Train.
